The Mophie 3-in-1 Travel Charger With MagSafe charger is an all in one, highly portable charging hub. Easy to pack, ready to go, all you need solution. A charging hub driven off of one USB-C. So forget packing all of the various cables for your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods. One USB-C and the Mophie 3-in-1 takes care of everything in a pretty small package. It’s designed with MagSafe so you get the full 15W high-speed charging for your iPhone.
Biggest thing I like about it is that it cut my cord count down when I travel. It’s super small when folded up and light weight. I originally wasn’t sure about the use of fabric on the outside of it but I’ve come to like the feel and look. The fact that it was built with MagSafe, the charging speed on the phone is great. It’s something I really am happy I pulled the trigger on when it became available. The benefit of it’s size and being all-in-one outweighs my issues I have with it.
It’s picky. When I say picky I mean it needs the full 30W power of the power brick they supply. I wish this wasn’t the case, I travel with an Anker USB-C charger (that I love) but because each outlet only gives 20W when both active, it’s not enough. It seems the charger cuts the phone charger off if it doesn’t have the full 30W available and you can only charge your watch + AirPods. The AirPods section, great for now, what happens when Apple changes the shape of the case, most likely frustration? Final thing I don’t love, the little “pouch” it came with, it’s bulky and should be left out by Mophie moving forward.
Well, it’s not cheap, it comes in at $149 from Mophie. Is it worth that when you could just bring the cables that came with each device? For me, as someone that travels (or did) for work frequently, it’s a fantastic. So yeah, at $149 it’s steep but it could be right for you.
As mentioned, I travel or traveled a lot for work. I’ve had a “tech” bag from Peak Design for a number of years now that I use to manage my cords, charing bricks, really anything tech. Adding this Mophie hub to my setup definitely helped slim down my tech bag. I took it on a family trip and my wife wants one now, it’s just so wildly convenient.
